The offences according to the prosecutor, Umaru Shamaki, are contrary to Section 1(a) of the food and drugs an unwholesome processes foods (miscellaneous provisions) Act Cap. C34 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004, and punishable under Section 3(1) of the Act. And section 1(1) of food and drugs and related products (registration, e.t.c.) F33, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004, and punishable under section 6(1)(a) of the Act. The prosecutor, Mr. Shamaki, told the court that the defendant was arrested by the Intelligence team of NAFDAC, with the said banned drugs and that upon interrogation, the defendant confessed to the act.
